Create an itinerary including Sedir Island
Legend has it that Sedir Island was a secret meeting place for Egyptian queen Cleopatra and her lover. The island is famous for its small beach covered with silky smooth white sand, said to have been brought here from Egypt by Mark Anthony as a gift for Cleopatra. Since the sand is made from tiny empty seashells and took millions of years to form, the beach is a conservation site. Sunbathe and swim along the rocky seashore. Covered with pine trees, the island features ancient ruins such as an amphitheater, a temple, and Byzantine city walls. Take note that towels are not allowed on the beach, and you are not permitted to leave the beach with any sand.
