Apollon Temple
Feel the enormous weight of history at the ancient ruins of Apollon Temple on the Side peninsula. Dedicated the Greek god of light and sun, the temple has a counterpart dedicated to Athena, and both were constructed around the 2nd century CE. Take in a view of the harbor from here and appreciate the intricate detailing of the marble. While most of the temple lies in ruins, the remaining columns and foundation make it easy to imagine how this impressive temple would have once appeared. Visited this place multiple times during our stay in Side and got to see it in different light which was fabulous. Very awe-inspiring by the coast with the crashing waves.

Walked past here every night during a seven nght stay in Side and took a few photographs as any people did. Interesting ruins lit up at night and right by the sea.

There are grander sights in the world, but the atmosphere during sunset makes it worthwhile. The view from the sea is something to behold imagining how ancient mariners would have viewed the old city. It’s well worth the visit. Don’t bother during the heat of the day. There are better archaeological wonders nearby and many untouched a small drive away, but I’d encourage you to venture to it.

Impressive and humbling site. One of the best things I have ever seen. The whole Side town is full of ancient Roman ruins, but the temple is right at the edge of the land and offers amazing views. I suggest visiting the site very early in the morning before the crowd gets in. I took a walk around the town at 6am, and there was barely anyone around.

Honestly its not much of a temple except a couple of pillars left standing after tidal waves and quakes have levelled most of the erstwhile temple. The pillars themselves are half recreated not original. The place creates one hell of a view near sunset to look upon the history and legacy this place once held. But its a long walk inside and I would not recommend it except during good weather and if you have a lot of time. The rest of the place has a couple of decent beaches for boating and swimming and a long line of shops. Seems like a tourist trap to me.

Very impressive, had no words when I reached the view of this temple it was one of the most beautiful sights I've seen. Alot of time spent on this to make sure it stays safe and stays an enjoyable visit to anyone who loves to explore. So much to see and is a perfect way to spend a day out in your holiday.
