Swim in tranquil blue water at Francis Bay, a family-friendly beach. Relax among soft white sand surrounded by mountains covered in thick, green plant life. Different sections the beach offer unique snorkelling experiences; you can see a vast array of colorful fish, rays, conches, and sea turtles. Take a paddleboard out on the calm waters and explore, if you feel confident enough venture to nearby bays. The park behind the beach offers a bird-watching, and some day tour hikes can be arranged. Absolutely beautiful, quiet beach! Had fun snorkeling and saw a sea cucumber, a couple of rays, brain coral, and more!

Wonderful! Right next to Maho Beach and quieter/less people. A new concrete road leads to a parking lot right on the beach. A bathroom is here and walking trail to the further parking if you arrive after 9am-ish. The lot here at the ocean fits about 12 jeeps. Out of the many beaches we've visited on St John this beach has the MOST shade with trees you can sit under with picnic tables. Again get here by 9am or they're taken.

Gorgeous and quiet! Parking, restrooms, snorkeling, shade and a beautiful beach. We came later in the morning around 11:30 and got a spot no problem. Bring a beach tent if you plan to stay for a while after lunch or park your chair under the trees. :)

My husband was recovering from a fractured leg, so it was nice to be able to park so close to the beach (we got there early to do that) and minimize walking. Not as busy as Maho, Cinnamon, and Trunk Bays, but comparable snorkling. I saw sting ray, sea turtles, a sea worm, and lots of fish and colorful coral. I was able to easily swim to Little Maho Beach just around the rocks to the west. Rest room is port-a-john, serviceable, but certainly not swanky. Nice ruins and path on the way there, that was also easy to explore as you enter if you wanted to skip the path (which we did due to my husband's injury). We actually visited there twice during our 10 day stay on St. John. Although there is shade, we observed the bugs like shade too... this is true at all the beaches, so best to bring your own shade if you can.

A nice walk through a mangrove forest brings you to a broad, sheltered beach with a few tables and lots of room. Wide beach is a bit pebbly, not all soft sand. Big yaughts are moored offshore.
