Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi

We watched the final race of the 2022 F1 season at Yas Marina Circuit. It was an amazing experience and I recommend giving it a try. Great atmosphere. Really busy which is normal, but you still get in and out quite fast regardless. I would like to try the W Hotel next as you can see parts of the track from some of the rooms.

This track is awesome! I did the GT Ferrari driving experience. Unfortunately, when I arrived, there was an issue with my driver’s license because I recently had it renewed and the new license only showed the renewal date, not the original issue date. I had to find a picture of an old one; which took about two hours, so I missed my track time. Luckily, the staff was SUPER nice, professional, and accommodating. When I came back they got me checked in right away and we hit the track. The instructor was great at providing feedback and corrective action. Part of my lap video file got corrupted, but nobody is to blame for that.

A beautiful 2021 F1 grand prix track. Sad to see the 2021 championship decided by F1 officials prior to to the end of race. There is no way a racer with bald tires can compete with another racer with fresh tires. The bald tire racer can compete only from where the fresh tire racer was further back in the pack when the pace car did pulled in on lap #57.

Enormous modern racetrack. Plenty of bathrooms, comfortable seats. Could have used more food concessions with more choices. Lines for food and drinks and souvenirs were too long. Track had great visibility and is very well kept.

Our family went on a tour of the circuit last Friday with a wonderful guide (sorry forgot his name!) who knew everything about the circuit, F1, the cars… fantastic. The circuit itself is awesome, would love to drive on it or watch the Grand Prix but hey this was the next best thing, especially at a time they were getting everything ready for the GP. Very interesting to see the staff setting up, decorating, flowers planted etc. We went in the villas, the pits, the stands and even on the podium with the actual champagne bottles (which in UAE contain Sprite!). A bargain price of around £24 GBP for the tour so all in all well worth it.
