Enjoy a day of education and entertainment with the animals at Al Ain Zoo, a 400 hectare (990 acre) site hosting over 4,000 critters. Opened in 1969, the zoo enjoys a scenic location in the foothills of the Jebel Hafeet mountains, where the native landscape serves as the natural home for many of its residents. This leader in the field of animal conservation counts over 30 percent of its species as endangered, including the Arabian oryx and the white lion. Take the onsite train to see the animals in habitats reminiscent of their native lands, and enjoy a guided tour to learn more about their behavior and the wider conservation project. • It is a lovely Zoo. A truly interesting location to visit it is quite a unique place filled with many different experiences. It is a very nice Zoo to visit and I had went there many times as a Child and a couples times as I got older. I had many fun and enjoyable moments there. The Animals were in great condition and seemed healthy. As well as going to the Safari with a good guide who explained things about animals and the zoo itself. The bird show was very interesting and knowledgeable filled with many unique birds and how the birds were surrounding us and flew around us was amazing. Would highly recommend to go during the afternoon after 3 pm go with a bag packed with food and water. The Penguin Exhibit was one of the best parts seeing them through a glass separating us from them and where they stayed was an area with glaciers of Ice and cold water with an extremely cold climate. The exotic animal exhibit was nice as well it had Snakes, Reptiles and other such animals in a dark showing room with each animals being separated from the other in a different hold. We managed to see most of the animals like lion, tiger, leopard, giraffe, hippo and crocodile as mostly was out or under the shades as it was not too hot yet. I can imagine they will hide maybe later in the afternoon when it’s warmer. Overall, the zoo was very well run, clean and lots of space to walk for the kids. I would recommend especially for a family outing in the winter months.
  • Very nice zoo, we had a great day. To be honest this place is so nice. Animals are in a very good condition and perfectly fine. We went on a safari with a good guide who explained things about animals and the zoo itself. The bird show was very interesting and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to afternoon after 3 pm go with bag packing food and water.
  • We visited this zoo on a Saturday morning and it was quiet at 10am. We got tickets for a family of four for around AED55+ with gov discount - very good deal indeed. I can imagine they will hide maybe later in the afternoon when it’s warmer. Overall, the zoo was very well run, clean and lots of space to walk for the kids. Took us almost 3 hours and would recommend especially for a family outing in the winter months.
  • It’s beautifully laid out, wider variety of animals than one expects. Staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. There’s a shuttle (golf cart) paid service AED30 (or something like that) for the full day, these carts transport visitors from one sector to another, if you choose not to walk or have little kids. They offer safari, by shuttle or a private SUV as well. There are options for a quick snack and even a meal scattered around the zoo. The cafeteria at the entrance of the zoo is pretty decent.
  • Very nice zoo, we had a great day. We went on a safari with a good guide who explained things about animals and the zoo itself. We will return when the elephants safari opens, at the moment, they are waiting for the elephants to arrive from Africa, you know Covid and transportation. I recommended this place.
