Take a ride up Jabal Bil Ays--at 1,934 m (6,316 ft) above sea level, the country's tallest mountain. On the way up, the winding road takes you between foothills and across rugged, rocky terrain boasting lots of interesting geological features. Pull over at one of the natural viewing areas and admire the impressive vistas that each twist and turn in the road provides. Rumor has it that the mountain will soon be getting the five-star treatment, with a hotel, cable car, golf course, and ski slope all planned, following the opening of the mountain road in 2015. Until then, it stands as an impressive natural landmark, with no facilities except for the road. Stock up with water and food before your journey, and drive carefully on the tortuous route. What a beautiful scenic road! There are about a dozen viewpoint stops along the way as well as a private area facing Westward that would give you a great vantage point of a sunset if you can time it..... more

Great trip. We had so much fun !!!! The way to the top got so many beautiful landscapes. We enjoy the company of multinational campers ,barbecue parties ,and music from very fancy cars. The police always check on safety and they were very nice.

Jabal Jais, Jabal al-Jays or Jabal Bil Ays is a mountain on the border between Oman and United Arab Emirates, with an elevation of 1,911 m (6,268 feet).[1] The highest point of this mount is located on the Omani side, but a secondary hill (in the same mountain) west of this peak is considered the highest point of the United Arab Emirates, at 1,892 m (6,207 feet) above sea level.

Wonder place to go nowadays, as its so so cold there. Yesterday it was 11 degress there. Many rest areas , barbque and jais slider make the fun double
