Walk atop Derry's City Walls, the only completely intact ones in Ireland. They date back to the 17th century, and today give you an unobstructed perspective down onto the old town they contain. As you stroll along the 1.5-km (0.93-mi) promenade, stop to admire the four original gates and three more that the city added over the years. The Walls remain open from dawn until dusk and are free of charge. You can find plenty of seating if you need to pause during your walk. This place doesn't require any entrance tickets, it's about walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. The historical center is pretty small, but it has really nice atmosphere. Right behind the old walls you can see the new buildings that quire disrupt the old nostalgic feeling, so I recommend to focus just on the historical center, if you go for it. I liked that there were multiple information panels at various places that were providing some basic information about the history of the concrete place, its original purpose, and changes in that purpose by time.

If you want to take a nice walk and see the Londonderry city from bird perspective, this is the right place to go. Very relaxing and nice to learn about the history of Derry Walls.

Certainly a nice attraction to the city although I wasn't able to see as much of the city as I expected from the walls, also their not very accessable to those who travel with bike and on wheel chair. Having said that, the information spots are plentiful and a joy to read

Sad to say that this has been something that divides families and culture. But Derry is a beautiful city and has so much to offer as a city. Regardless of which side of the wall you live in ... As a tourist I have to say that you have a beautiful town . That no walk will take away it's charm.

Walking this wall and listening to Derry's history and walking parts of the wall is a must. Through the stories you feel what drives this beautiful city and in the message of peace it has now.
