St. Columba's Church (Long Tower), Derry

I visited St Columba's Long Tower Catholic Church in Derry/Londonderry today and it was a most enjoyable experience. The Church is easy to locate. Drive over the Craigavon Bridge. At the roundabout turn left onto Abercorn Road and keep going straight on. At the top of a slight hill is a set of traffic lights. Go straight on through these traffic lights onto Barrack Street. There is a right turn marked in the middle of the road. Turn right here. This takes you onto Long Tower Street. The Church is directly in front of you on the left hand side of the road. There is a limited amount of parking in the Church grounds themselves but there is street parking outside of the Church. The alter is stunning in its beauty. The Church is packed full of paintings. It has a baptismal font in the Church. The Church has beautiful stained glass windows. There are statues inside of the Church and also outside of the Church. I would recommend a visit to St Columba's Long Tower Catholic Church in Derry/Londonderry.

St Columba's, Long Tower Church in Derry is a beautiful church with lots of history, inside & outside. Great place for a visit if you like historic religious buildings.

Beautiful historic church on a hill overlooking the Bogside in Derry. It's a peaceful location and not far from the Derry walls.

The longtower to me is steeped in spiritual history eg Saint Columbia And only this week we have a novena to sister Clare another Saint from this parish on her way to being a Saint The Novena this week was one of the most inspiring spiritual testimonials to that fact I love the longtower

One of the most beautiful architectural church's in Derry with the most stunning alter. A lovely place to go to attend mass and light a candle.
