Glastonbury Tor stands as one of the UK's most spiritually and historically significant landmarks. Artifacts on this prominent hill date back to the Iron Age and Roman era, and the site makes appearances in Celtic mythology. Today the remains of a large 15th-century church tower help give the Tor its commanding presence over Glastonbury, while seven symmetrical and unexplained terraces lend it a sense of mystery. Head to the top of the hill for expansive views of the surrounding countryside, and enjoy a picnic when you return to the bottom. Follow the concrete path for a less steep route to the top that also helps prevent walker-induced erosion. It was relatively easy walk up to the Tor with steps all the way up. Amazing views from the top. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area

Love the Tor! It’s a steep but short walk (25-35 minutes up) , lots of places to rest on the way up, the views are stunning, dogs welcome, there are normally some sheep doing sheep things, so bear that in mind if you take your pooch.

Great walk which ends with very impressive views of the surrounding countryside. The tower at the top is picturesque and a wide area around provides ample room for picnicking. Yhere is a dial on top which points out areas, directions and distances to local points of interest showing a relief to help orientate you. The walk is steep and takes about 30 mins for experienced walkers from Glastonbury. The only downside is parking is limited and expensive in the town.

If you’re interested in an panoramic incredible view and a great workout- you’ve found the right trek! It wasn’t too bad of a walk once you made it to the base of the tor (only took 15 mins to get to the top). But most start out somewhere in the city- so it took about 30-45 mins to get to the base. Once we got to the top- we loved the sunset we caught! The view from the top is worth the trek!!!! Take a bottle of water and a snack and you’re all set!

Fairly hard going up the Tor from the South Gate so we walked along the footpath through the wood and climbed from the North. Still hard going! Worth it when you make it to the top as it gives up some good views. On the downside why do people sit at the base instead of moving out of the way so others can take pictures.

We loved walking up the Tor, stunning views all around. Worth the steep walk up, take a picnic and relax with incredible views
