Create an itinerary including Neist Point
A single, unassuming lane leads you to one of Scotland’s most popular viewpoints. Regular visitors insist that Neist Point, the westerly most point on the Isle of Skye, is never the same place from day to day, hour to hour. Don’t forget a camera with long-range capabilities. Whales, porpoises, dolphins, and sharks also frequently visit. Bring a jacket, a hat, and walking shoes. Be sure to take it slowly. Several steep inclines require a little extra time and attention. • If you're either overweight or unfit (I'm both), this is a hard walk, the lighthouse is particularly average too.... However, there are some striking views... But capture them on the way back up as...

  • The journey alone is an adventure. The single-lane road is busy for this area and the alternative routes are limited. The car park is free and you get great views even on the hike to the lighthouse...

  • Will recommend this walk 100% , not really demanding as its an average length walk down to Lighthouse , a bit harder on the way back but its worth it. Make sure You pick nice weather as this remote part of Skye could be really windy and rainy. One of top attractions out there and definitely wort a hassle.
  • Nice place, very windy, steep path to get there but worth it
  • A must see while on Skye. Persevere with the single track roads and you will be rewarded with magnificent views at road end. Walk down from the car park is initially very very steep so do take care. Stay away from the cliff edges especially on windy days. The lighthouse itself is very prominent (of course) and the cliffs around it are utterly spectacular.
  • Beautiful place to visit! We caught it on a clear and sunny day and could see out for Miles. No marine life spotted for us this time but we did see plenty of sea birds!
  • Neist Point is simply beautiful, it's views could never be justified simply by words!! The views start from the top and just get more breath taking as you go on. Yes it's a fairly long steep decent do get all the way down but it's worth every step. Pitcher perfect lighthouse awaits you at the bottom sat on the most westly part of Skye along with panoramic views and marine life in abundance. We were lucky to see some seals 🦭 playing in the water before taking off. This is without doubt worthy of a 5 star review and definitely worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended 👌
