At Claigan Coral Beach, what seems to be bright white sand or coral is actually small bits of sun-bleached algae that makes up a stunning shoreline. Located on the Isle of Skye near the Dunvegan Castle, this alluring beach is rarely crowded, as it's a bit off the beaten path. The beach lends itself to long, leisurely strolls, so take your time wending your way down its rugged coast. You could also extend your visit by exploring the other beaches here, which locals call "wee gems." To visit Claigan Coral Beach on your trip to Isle of Skye, use our Isle of Skye day trip site.

Have fun parking? We did. You drive down a narrow lane and just hope no one is coming the other way. But the effort was worth it. The walk takes about 30 minutes. It’s a flat walk and very pleasant...

Nice easy walk out to the shore. There is a small hill you can climb, which gives some great panoramic views. The water colour is stunning, too. Just be aware that parking can be tricky – the car park is a bit tight.

Amazingly picturesque breach on the Isle. The sand is ground up coral, though you only notice this close up. Beautiful sea views and landscape. It gets crazy busy in the tourist season, enough such that it's probably best avoided during the busiest times - you'll be fighting your way along narrow tracks with limited passing and no where near enough parking for the interest it gets. Go when it's cold and wet and it will be a completely different experience - as you can see from my pictures. You do definitely need to go sometime though... Also, don't bring low clearance cars - the road is rough and very bumpy.

Quite a walk to the beach but it was a nice plave to visit. We unfortunately got hailed on a lot on the way back to the car. The beach itself is small and takes about 30 minutes to walk to depending on how fast and weather (rain, snow, winds). It does have some pretty views, just be prepared to walk a bit before reaching the beach

The walk to the beach from the car parking itself is a bit long but eye pleasing. Coral beach offers some stunning views with its reef, white sand, adjacent green hills, and the blooming little flowers in summer. Sadly we couldn't enjoy swimming as it's raining along with strong winds on the day of our visit. So, visit this place on a warm summer day to get the most out of it.

This place is magical, quiet and calm. This is the place to be when the sun is out. The whole beach is made of coral sand. You have to walk for around 15 minutes to reach this place. There is limited free parking available and the roads to get here are narrow. But definitely worth a visit when you are in Skye.
