Not been here since the late 1990’s so was looking forward to it. Happily it was free entry this time as I’m pretty sure when I last went I had to pay. I would say 2 hours tops here is enough some...

Such a good place to go and spend hours, either alone or with friends or families! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. A variety of interesting stories and stuff, from the west to the east, from ancient time to modern time. Some of the displays are just breath-taking - take your time to explore! The shopping area and food area are also good. The food and drink served are pretty decent. I really had a wonderful time here. It is a fantastic place that I would recommend to all of my friends!

I love this museum! It's a free to go, history museum with swords, guns and different weapons on show. You can go to talks on different topics - we went to a WWII gun talk. Absolutely loved it. Very interesting with a host who made the topic fun with props and humour. Wish we had got there earlier! But guess that means we can come back 😆 The area is also really easy to get to by public transport. We took a train from Halifax to the City railway station and walked along the canal. Prefect distance!

Fantastic day out for all the family ! You can really loose yourselves in this place all day! We did not visit the cafe as there is a Pizza Express directly opposite where you can sit outside in the sunshine. There was no queue what so ever, which was surprising as we were visiting during school holidays. Entry is completely free, perfect location in Leeds to get the water taxi back to the train station too.

A must for everyone! I am no expert on weaponry, but am blown away by the scale of the collections, and the vastness of the range of items. The interpretation is 1st class, and the displays, enactments, jousts, sword fights and the detail in bringing history to life, makes this an accessible and enjoyable learning experience for all. I love it here, I love the building itself. Cafe is nice, but could be improved greatly - with limited menu, and only cold sandwiches and pasties. Only hot options were full main courses. No option for soup or toasties etc. Shop well worth a visit.

What an amazing place. It is absolutely massive with LOADS of weaponry throughout the years. The fact that it's free is astounding considering the quality of the exhibits. We went during the Jubilee celebration event and they put on additional events such as reenacting events with actors, storytelling and jousting (which cost an additional £5 - £20 - we felt that we had a great experience with the £5 ticket. Will definitely visit again as there was too much to see on just one 4 hours visit. Plenty of lunch buying opportunities and designated picnic areas too!
