Create an itinerary including Portmeirion Village
An "Italian" village on the coast of North Wales, Portmeirion Village is a fantasyland built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975. The village's playful architecture is painted bright colors and offset by thick, green foliage. Inside these buildings you'll find hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and everything else you'd expect from a Mediterranean holiday, including a nearby body of water. Get great views of the village from the central piazza and check out Battery Square for some laid-back souvenir shopping. Before you head to Portmeirion, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Portmeirion road trip site, to make sure you see all that Portmeirion has to offer, including Portmeirion Village.

  • Where to start, over priced 1 hours walk round. Looking at ginger bread houses. No charm, no authenticity. Absolute worst experience in Wales. Overpriced fantasy, cafe wasn't too bad.

  • On a windswept and rainy weekend, we spent the days hunkered down in the best place possible, the Watch House and viewed the turbulent weather on the sea. Making occasional forays out to the Castle...

  • My favourite place in the UK, if not the world. A magical kingdom, especially when illuminated after dark. If you can afford it, stay in one of the Village properties. They are all unique.
  • A good family day out, although we did go in January, and it was quite which I liked. I would recommend the forest walk to
  • How unbelievably beautiful! Visited Aug 2022 and it rained on/off but it was still stunning! Lots of seating, especially hidden seating with beautiful views and a couple of decent cafes, but I'd definitely take a picnic next time. What I didn't expected was the stunning beach, absolutely huge with lots of little coves, you could easily spend a whole day here (plus lots of shelter if needed). Lovely gift shop, staff were pleasent, amazing scenery, a really fantastic day out.
  • Went to see this unique place while visiting northern Wales for a weekend. When we visited, they was a Art and Craft fair happening so it was quite busy but still dint have to wait to get tickets or to walk in. Plenty of car park space. There are plenty of Italian architecture buildings which I think can be rented to stay in. There are some good view points of the mountain ranges and can be a good place to hang out for an afternoon. There is also a restaurant inside and few cafes.
  • Beautiful place but really expensive for what it is and the few shops opened... Free parking on-site.
