Witness one of Scotland’s most impressive geological phenomena at The Quiraing. Set in the mountainous landscape of the Isle of Skye, the site represents continuously moving landslips that have formed a series of bluffs and rock formations. Hike the 6 km (3.7 mi) trail that snakes through the formations and enjoy dramatic views of the island’s coastline and sprawling green landscape. While the terrain can be rough to hike in poor weather, the site is also accessible by car. Stop by the local tearoom on your way out of town for homemade cakes and a nice selection of teas. Put The Quiraing on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Isle of Skye road trip tool.

Breathtaking views! We didn't do the whole hike because it was super windy out and also a bit rainy, but even just the bit that we did was stunning! It doesn't even look real! Even if you can't do...

Extraordinarily beautiful place! The hike is slightly challenging, but we’ll worth the effort. Stunning.

Breath taking view, it doesn't matter what weather, what part of the day - its just amazing. Parking, pay with card or app. New paths surface done. Good for short or long walk... or just for few pictures.

Amazing, AMAZING views! Car park is 3 pounds FOR 3 hours, and you can see some great views from there already. If you continue to hike upwards to the “Needle”, you will continue see more stunning views that exceed that of the car park. The Needle is the closest second “destination” of the hike, but is only the beginning of the entire trail (which we had no plans of completing lol). The upward climb is not immediately steep but the incline is significant over time. The path is pretty clear and well tread most of the time with a few tricky spots… the climb itself (up to the Needle anyway) is not that challenging itself except for the fact that the high wind speeds make the journey much harder than it otherwise would be. Strongly recommend a windbreaker, gloves and a hat because it is super windy up there! Worth it for the views though.

Most beautiful hike you can do! I can't explain how stunning it is, especially if you dare to hike a full round. It took us 3,5h with a little stop on the top. In some areas the path is really close to the egde and the wind very strong. Good shoes are a must cause it can get really muddy and weat up there. Also the weather changed every 5min so it is good to have waterproof everything, even if it looks sunny from the carpark. Totally worth it! A must!

* Quiraing A MUST SEE and HIKE * what an amazing and magical place. Get there early so you can park closest to the trail. You can do and out and back or hike the entire loop. When you start on the trail within 5 mins you’ll see the split going up a trail (loop). If you do the loop make sure you’ve given yourself plenty of time (2.5+ hours) depending on your pace. Although there are a few places along the trail that may be challenging (rocks, streams, etc) overall the trail is pretty easy. The views are simply spectacular!

Awe inspiring landscape. Having visited many of the UK's national parks and scenic areas, this one felt other-worldly. I walked the trail from the parking lot just up the road from the cemetery, passing The Needle and The Prison. The walk took about two and a half hours though I did stop many times to take in the views! The path generally wasn't bad, though one point where it dropped down to cross a stream was a bit more challenging. Worth persisting as the scenery was incredible along the entire length of the path. Good walking boots are essential, and the weather can change quickly up here so sensible to be prepared. Understandably very popular, so come early in the morning if you want a quieter experience.
