However many times you go back,the beach is absolutely stunning. Miles of golden sand with the backdrop for the old course. Dog walkers paradise with room to lose yourself.

West sands beach is really a nice place to go! I was worrying about the weather on the way to St Andrews. But fortunately, when I arrived, the rain stopped and the sun came out. I feel so lucky to see the beach under the sun!!!

A popular New Year’s Day walk; for a round trip start from the Road Hole on the Old Course and take the path past the Jigger Inn along the edge of the Old Course until you reach the Eden Estuary. Follow the path along the estuary that crosses the New Course until you reach the beach. Walk the firm West Sands Beach back towards Saint Andrews. Only 2 degrees C but in the winter sun, it beats the Caribbean hands down!

Stunning beach 😊 Great for dog walking. They can run, catch the ball and dash into the sea. It's gorgeous! Supposedly this beach was used in the filming of the Chariots of Fire movie.

Lovely stretch of beach, still room for everyone with the golf tournament taking place. Parking officials guiding you to free parking if you were just dog walking.
