  • Great free stop if you got an hour to kill! The videos used are pretty dated but interesting and informative. My favorite section is the history of greyhound racing/domestication. Say hi to Ginger! She's a sweet greyhound that'll greet you at the door and couldn't be softer (she does she'd a bit though so watch your clothes!)
  • Great little visit! We combined this with a trip to the Eisenhower museum. When you enter, you are greeted by the retired race dogs and attendant who orient you! There is a 10 minute video to watch and then a gallery to explore, including displays about the history of the breed, about how betting and the race track works, and the actual hall of fame itself with notable dogs. It’s free, so absolutely worth popping in and leave a donation if you enjoy! We spent about 50 minutes reading most of the plaques and watching most of the videos, but you could walk through more quickly and just see some highlights.
  • Who doesn't love a place where 2 pups greet you at the door? I learned a lot too!
  • Well, if you love greyhounds, and you’re in Abilene, how can you not visit the Greyhound Hall of Fame? Within those parameters, it’s definitely worth a visit. The highlight of the visit are the two retired greyhounds lounging at the entrance. Sweethearts both of them. That said, the focus of the museum is the racing industry and the men who built it up. A declining sport, the displays read like a roll call of shuttered and long gone race tracks. 5 stars if you love the unusual, the out of the way or the abandoned. If not, the presidential library is across the street.
  • It's a nice, free museum that includes a couple of live dogs to pet (gotta love that). The museum is more about racing than the actual breed, but I am glad I went. I spent about 20 minutes here. If you are a racing fan, you might spend more time.
