  • Easy stop near the Visitor Center on the left when returning toward the center. The large wall of red rock is next to the parking area.

  • You don't even have to hike to enjoy the towers from the parking area. I know it is really awesome on the hike, but we didn't have time here, so I got the best photos I could from the parking area...

  • On Park Ave trail when you come around the corner and see Courthouse towers it takes your breath away. Its a massive formation up out of the ground standing by itself. The shadows at dawn are especially beautiful as you can see the shapes of the rock and there is more texture. These pictures of Courthouse Towers are from Park Ave trail. Courthouse Towers is on the right of the wide view. Read more at
  • Just get out of the car, enjoy the view and the silence. Try to imagine what you see.....
  • Arches National park is 5-miles from Moab. When you enter Arches from Hwy. 191, the Courthouse Towers District is the first section of the park that you will see. It includes the Park Avenue Viewpoint and trail head. That's a two-mile RT trail into the canyon with an elevation gain of 320 feet. It should take less than one hour. Continuing on, there is the Courthouse, the La Sal Viewpoint Overlook, the Three Gossips, the Organ, the Tower of Babel, and the Great Wall. The Great Wall runs along near Park Avenue. The other formations mentioned will have their own reviews. Be advised that the summer months are April through September and the park areas can be very warm and dry. There is not much shade either. Therefore, good walking shoes, protective shade gear for eyes, heads, and skin, (even an umbrella) sunscreen, and plenty of water are necessary. The restrooms for this area are in the Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, the park road climbs slowly uphill. When you enter the park you will be given a park map. This will show you the trail heads, has distances marked, and will tell you where there are drinking water stations and restroom facilities.
  • A nice hour long stroll from here to park avenue during sunset was super serene and tranquil!
  • The sheep rock is really interesting.
