Pentagon Memorial honors the 184 people who died in the attack on the Pentagon building on September 11, 2001. Each person is honored by an illuminated bench with his or her name set in shallow pools of water. When you read the names of those who perished inside the building, you'll face the spot where the plane hit the Pentagon. Turn toward the sky to read the names of those who were on board. At the memorial, you can dial a number to listen to an audio tour on your phone. The tour is also available online for listening and download. The memorial is the only part of the Pentagon complex where taking photos is allowed. Before you visit Arlington, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

Beautifully designed to honor the lives that were lost, very emotional. There is a volunteer that shows up and share photos and details of that day of 9/11 not sure if there's a time schedule. He did give me a picture card with details about the memorial units why they were facing different directions😢and also there's a number on the back of the card to call with a Pentagon Memorial Audio Tour. Unfortunately the volunteer came when I was leaving and handed me this card. I posted a picture of this card hopefully it's legible and I hope this helps. I can't wait to visit again.

We visited during the day but wanted to see it at night. Very peaceful. Well thought out design. We parked in the huge parking lot for the Pentagon but did not have any trouble doing so. You can also visit the Airforce memorial right down the street. There are public air portable bathrooms on site. Very clean.

Very Nice Memorial. This memorial is to honor those we lost at the Pentagon during the September 11th Attacks. It is very well designed to honor each victim. Every person has a bench dedicated to them. If you look at the name of a person and look up and see the building they were killed in the building and if you look up and see the sky (or not the building) they were killed in the plane. Overall this is very moving and a must see.

This is a beautiful memorial honoring those who died at the Pentagon on 9/11. I highly recommend taking the phone tour while you're there, following the route the tour walks you through.

Powerful emotions. We went on 9/11/22. We saw grieving family members and friends share stories. It was overwhelming 21 years later to see the site where we watched the events unfold live when we were younger.
