Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, Ashland

Wow. What an incredible museum. It's absolutely worth the money. I highly recommend. It is filled with massive planes in two separate hangars. Some you climb up to and a cockpit you can sit in. There is a small Cafe. The bathrooms are massive with tons of stalls, very cleaning, and also have a changing table. I also want to note that the toliets do not automatically flush (noise sensitive kid and public bathrooms can be a challenge) so it's always nice to know it won't be a stressful restroom break. The kids areas are huge with educational aspects with tons of fun. You could spend hours here, an entire afternoon really. My kid didn't want to leave. For the adults: tons of information to read and learn. I am very impressed with the information and quality of the items in the museum.

The Aerospace Museum is such a great place to visit. Some of the displays have changed since I was last here a few years ago. There is so much history that goes along with these exhibits and displays, be sure to spend the time to read them. There are some interactive displays for kids, they are full of some fun and basic information in science and engineering. The staff was friendly and they do offer a guided tour that does cost a little extra. My thee boys enjoyed The SACM and want to go back. There is a nice tribute to the victims of 9/11 that you need to go see. As fun as it was, it may be a bit pricey. We still might come back in a few years.

I decided to visit the SAC Museum since I hadn’t been there in many years. I certainly underestimated the size and variety of exhibits/areas that were available for viewing. There are two hangars containing an abundance of aircrafts, some of which can be viewed up close. In addition, there are areas dedicated to the Holocaust, space exploration, and an activity center for children. Overall, the SAC Museum is a large facility that contains a wealth of knowledge surrounding military aircrafts, while adding value in many other areas too.

A really nice museum. There are over 50 planes spread across two hangers plus a lot of other displays. The planes are all fully restored and there are some very rare planes that you would be hard pressed to see elsewhere. The films on SAC are rather dated. I LOVED the way the SR-71 is displayed in the entrance way. It looks like it coming for you. My complaints: It should be possible to see into more of the planes. Too many can just be seen from the floor. It's hard to find the names / info for so many of the planes and two of the displays outside are not labeled at all. Also, I was shocked at the price of admission.

Hidden gem! Anyone that remotely has interest in aircraft should come visit and take a look. The collection is quite stunning and well maintained. Aircraft mostly ranges from WWII to Vietnam era, with a couple of unique guys such as the SR-71 and F-117 (sadly in restoration at time of review). However, the exhibits featuring the workhorses of the older era (B-25, B-29, B-52, F-4 among others) are fantastic.
