I go there about every weekend. The lake is beautiful and there is so much to do. I just can’t help but wonder why my grandparents property is the second picture?

Took a 1.5hr drive to go to it. Very nice lake. Was empty when I went, but was during the week. This was in the winter and fishing was hard.....I here its packed with bass

We love Lake Athens! We love the fishing and recreational boating on this lake. The water is super clear, and you feel clean and not gross like other area lakes. This lake reminds me of the lakes you find in Arkansas. The restaurant is amazing!

Lake Athens is the perfect lake for the way I like to fish. I enjoy power fishing in the grass. Athens has all kinds of grass to satisfy your any desire. Everytime I go out there I can look around and remember all the 5-7 pounders that I have caught over the years.

This is the place to go if you want to have fun with your family! The water is nice and it is an awesome lake overall! I definitely suggest going to the Marina, dock your boat, and have some of the best burgers you will ever have!

Texas travel guide mentioned “swimming”. Swimming is NOT allowed from shore, only from your boat. This lake is all about FISHING. Great, if you’re into that. Don’t follow Google Maps to “Lake Athens” from the southeast! It routes to to a locked gate of private lakefront property.

It’s a private lake unless you have a boat. There’s is no lake excess except the boat ramp.
