  • We really enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide was entertaining. We did not know a lot about Margaret Mitchell, so it was interesting to learn about her life. The gift shop is definitely worth a look too.

  • Very easy to visit. If traffic is a problem try riding the train or taking a bus and leave the driving to Marta which is located right next door. It is beautiful this time of year with the beautiful leaves changing and it’s not too hot or cold. Margaret Mitchell’s House is a great experience and educational but if it’s closed there’s plenty to do in the area. Starting with the Federal Reserve which is right next door and plenty of places to stop in for coffee or lunch like Taco Mac or Hudson Grille for some wings and a beer or Sweet Hut Bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth. Piedmont Park is also just a short walk to walk your dog or maybe just let the kids wear themselves out, lol 😁
  • This was my second time visiting the Margaret Mitchell House. I found the staff cheery, yet "cheeky." You know the kind of cheeky when you walk into a place & the staff all seem to, at-once, put on these forced grins in attempts at making you feel genuinely welcomed. Other than that, the tour went well. The house & grounds have been kept up well. Our tour guide was actually quite knowledgeable. Offering a lot of additional, lesser known facts, which I wouldn't have been privy to otherwise. The souvenirs weren't of the same level of quality that I'd remembered them being from the past. But then again, what is these days???
  • I never actually been there. But just came upon the house museum site after a wikipedia article about Margeret Mitchel. This is the exact kind of house I imagined her living in--an upper middle class row house. I didn't think her house would still be stranding; the "politically correct people "pulled it down, or something. Gone With the Wind and Birth of a Nation, are great movies. They depict an ugly time of our history. But cinema is called the only American art form.as works of art both movies are great. I hope to see the house someday.
  • Very historic place, plus the tour was very informative and guide very knowledgeable. They did a great job restoring the place to as close to what it would've been like when Margret was writing her masterpiece. They also have a small exhibit in a separate building next door with film about the making of Gone With The Wind and relics from the opening in Atlanta.
  • Very informative and an easy tourist spot to navigate. I'm not a huge GWTW fan, but I thought the tour was great! Short & sweet, and super casual. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting ATL.
