The Brinton Museum, Big Horn

Nice museum with beautiful views of the Bighorns and surrounding foothills. The views alone are worth a visit. Three floors of collections but the star is definitely Bradford Brinton's historic collections. Amazing Native American collection including exquisite beadwork clothing and ornate head dresses. We also enjoyed his art collection which featured western scenes and animals. One of our favorites was an oil painting in black and white which looked like a photo. The grounds are also beautiful and landscaped with trees and grass. The below photos are some of my favorites.

The Brinton Museum, located near Sheridan, Wyoming, is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Native American history and culture. The museum's collection is incredibly fascinating, and it offers a unique glimpse into the lives and traditions of the indigenous peoples of the region. Although we were unable to sample the brunch during our visit, we were so impressed by the museum that we will definitely be back soon.

We had our wedding at the Brinton this past weekend (July 2021) and from the start of the planning process to the end of the event, we had a fantastic experience. Both the event coordinator, Hanna, and the chef, Paul, are awesome. The wait staff was fantastic - very attentive to the bride & groom, the food was INCREDIBLE - not like typical wedding food, and the scenery is unmatched.

An absolute gem worth searching out if anywhere near the area. My mom and I visited towards the end of the day and went back the next for brunch and to finish going through the rotating exhibits. The collection of Native American beadwork and art is stunning and encompasses a healthy number of tribes so that you can begin to pick up on motifs and styles by tribe. The Remingtons (sculptures and paintings) are worth a visit. The grounds are lovely—we never even got to tour the house and other outbuildings but HIGHLY recommend based on the collection in the main museum alone!

Wonderful museum. The bistro has an outstanding brunch. The view is beautiful! Can't wait for warmer weather so we can sit outside.
