McWay Falls is one of the only waterfalls in the region that empties straight into the ocean. Rising 24.3 m (80ft) above the shoreline of the Pacific, this "tidefall" is accessible via the state park's 1.03 km (0.64 mi) roundtrip trail. Pause at the vantage points along the way to take in views of the ocean and the cascading waters themselves. For a different vantage point, you can reach the beach below the falls via boat. Amazing waterfall with great views. You have to do a small hike from car lot to waterfall but it won't take you more than 5 to 10 minutes to get to the view point. Restrooms available that were OK.

The walkway to see the water fall is closed with fence and gate. Looks like it was about to collapse. It is better to see it from the road than from the path.

A must see on any road trip down the PCH. Parking is on the left hand side of the road as you head south and will cost $10. From there there is a short trail the leads through a tunnel under the highway to a walkway along the cliffs overlooking the cove. There is no access to the beach and it is prohibited. It is like looking at something from the Lost World - a pristine beach with a waterfall cascading from the cliffs onto the sand. You can expect crowds at certain times of the day. Count on spending around 30 minutes to soak up the views before continuing on your road trip.

The falls are beautiful. This is a really short hike that’s convenient for everyone of all ages and capability. The beach, the giant rocks in the water, and the greenery surrounding the falls make for a really complete view. Parking can sometimes be difficult depending on how many people are already there. When we went the parking area was under construction, but even then we were able to find parking for our visit.

The drive to this fall is very scenic. All the way through CA1 south is awesome. Driving over the Big Sur Bixby bridge was one of a kind experience. But unfortunately this time of the year the McWay fall does not have enough water stream. It is just okay. We were disappointed seeing the amount of water stream in this fall.

McWay at sunset is absolutely gorgeous! Go when the golden hour is out for a treat. If you go during weekdays, it's fairly empty. Cliffs, beachside and a small fall. Very cute.

An absolutely stunning sight, though I do wish you could get closer to the falls (such as on the beach). A pretty short and easy walk to these amazing views!
