A lush greenspace, Boise River Greenbelt stretches over 32 km (20 mi). This once-neglected space was once used for dumping trash. In the 1960s, the city began transforming it for recreation. The greenbelt now stretches from Lucky Peak Dam to just past Eagle Road. Its trails are used for leisure by cyclists, joggers, and walkers. It's also an alternative commuter trail. Much of the trail is paved, but cars are prohibited. The tree-lined greenbelt winds through numerous riverside parks, communities, and wildlife habitats, as well as past landmarks, such as the Anne Frank and Human Rights Memorial. The greenbelt is a wonderful area for walking and biking year round. The parks and rec crews keep the paths cleared and make it a very enjoyable place to visit. It is conveniently located to all of the parks and down town .

Wow. This has to be one of the best parts about living in Boise. How cool is it to have a path that takes you from one side of the city, through the heart, and all the way to the other side?! All along the beautiful river. The path is well paced throughout, great signage and maps available. People are respectful and it's a great way to stay fit. (Pics are a 5.2 mile bike ride from southeast Boise Harris ranch area to downtown - took 20 min)

Great place to enjoy a walk, jog, or to ride your bike. The parts that are right up next to the river are truly beautiful. Some areas have tree roots causing a bumpy surface for bike riding, but most areas are increasingly well maintained. Newly improved areas near the whitewater park are perfect.

A very nice, shady, and convenient foot or bike path that stretches through much of the Treasure Valley along the Boise River. The people using it are very respectful and kind when it comes to sharing the space. Nothing but good expiriences.

The greenbelt is a great family fun place. I did 25 miles of biking on it with some friends and it's easy riding the whole way. I recommend going.
