Quincy Market is a historic building near Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It was constructed between 1824 and 1826 and named in honor of mayor Josiah Quincy, who organized its construction without any tax or debt. The market is a designated National Historic Landmark and a designated Boston Landmark in 1996, significant as one of the largest market complexes built in the United States in the first half of the 19th century. According to the National Park Service, some of Boston's early slave auctions took place near what is now Quincy Market.
As the central building of Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Quincy Market is often used metonymically for the entire development. By the mid-20th century it was badly in need of repair, and it was redeveloped into a public shopping and restaurant area in the early 1970s and re-opened in 1976. Today, this includes the original Quincy Market buildings, the later North Market and South Market buildings that flank the main Quincy Market, the historic Faneuil Hall lying at the west end, and two smaller curved buildings, added later to the eastern end.

  • First time visiting this shopping center in Boston. The area is clean, parking is across the street in a garage, and the prices are decent. Food court gets crammed easily, but moves at a fast pace. I had Regina Pizzeria and it was good. Not sure of the bill for tolls yet from CT, but I may return in the future. Family had a great time.
  • You can have some fresh seafood (especially lobster) here. The prices are reasonable and the qualities are nice! If it’s crowded, recommend to grab meal to-go. You can find better places outside and enjoy the foods. Lobster sandwiches are great! Strongly recommend!
  • Cute market with lots of good food and drinks like lobster rolls, pizza, coffee, etc. and little stands to buy sweatshirts, scarves, candles gloves, etc. I stopped in here while I was in Boston for a few hours and it was really neat. There was also a violinist playing by the Christmas tree who was amazing!! They had a dinosaur game section too which was cool. You step outside and there are lots of spots to shop and they had the football game on a big screen outside too. Definitely a spot to check out!
  • whether you are vacationing or a local this is a must experience as part of history. A place with little restaurants inside the market with plenty of pop up shops for souvenirs and artsy items alongside the building. We had ice cream and lobster roll and it was delish. When you walk out there are more shopping stores with plenty to see. Depending on the season you might catch will shows outside.
  • Quincy market is one of the best places I found in Boston. It has a remarkable European touch and I was liter feeling that I am somewhere in Europe. There was a variety of food, shops, and different handmade stuff. Moreover the place looks full of life with many people showing their artistic work and entertaining people in every possible way. Would really go again when I visit Boston. Highly recommended place for the tourists.
