The trails of Flatirons deliver views of the city skyline and mountains. They range from fairly easy to challenging, and many are wheelchair-accessible and open to horseback riding. Bikes are allowed on certain trails, picnic facilities are available throughout the area, and restrooms are located at the trailhead. Parking is available for a fee, and you'll find bus connections close to the trailhead. Look for coyotes, songbirds, mule deer, and other wildlife. Bring water and snacks to keep yourself fueled. Holy smokes was Boulder and surrounding area was fantastic. The food, drink and people were great. The drivers in the mountains and view, simply amazing. I would highly recommend a trip.

Great hiking trails. Caught up with some family from the area and did a quick hike. Nice smooth trails with some elevation change and lots of scenery. Mid-March had good mix of snow with warmer sun...

Breathtaking Flatirons area is a must when visiting Boulder. Beautiful views, hiking trails of different difficulty levels. Wear good shoes, bring water, lease your dogs. Be aware that you are at high altitude! Paid parking lot is available, but there are few spots, parking could get complicated.

I've hiked this place in winter and summer and it's just as amazing either way. There are different trails with different difficulty and their is a general store for a few more supplies but make sure to bring lots of water.

One of the best (and more popular) hiking/climbing areas around the area. It can get steep and challenging so if you're looking for more of a casual walk you won't get too far. There are plenty of trail options - see my pic of trail map or use AllTrails app. Don't forget to bring water as you can get lost from enjoyment out there.

This trail kicked my butt. Visiting from the east coast and not used to the elevation. Also, there are some ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING parts of this trail that the locals cross with ease. My husband and I were looking at parts of the trails that look like the left overs of a massive rock slide and not a trail at all. Haha still beautiful and very rewarding to finish. If you hike a lot maybe you won't have as hard of a time as I did! The actual flatiron itself and not the trail....yeah that's never gonna happen. I'm convinced people from Colorado have goat legs.

This was a pretty tough hike. Not only because we haven't been in the area for long and aren't set up for high altitudes but also due to difficulty in some sections. But we made it to the top and the view was quite worth it. We found parking quite easily and had a less crowded hike on a Tuesday. This is a place I can consider hiking with my siblings when they come visit Denver/Boulder area but I can't imagine my mother trying to hike this even though she's only in her 50s. I would vote 5 stars due to the fact that this is not for everybody.
