Create an itinerary including Multnomah Falls
The tallest waterfall in Oregon, and the second-tallest year-round waterfall in America, Multnomah Falls is a natural wonder imbued with Native American legend. Supposedly, the waterfall was created to woo a young princess who wanted a private place to bathe. Find the bottom of this 186 m (611 ft) icy fall after crossing the Benson Footbridge, and then continue up the trail for different views of the spectacle. After your hike, head to Multnomah Falls Lodge, a relaxing restaurant, gift shop, and information center built in 1925 from every type of rock found in Columbia Gorge. • Well worth stopping and stretching your legs if nearby. The cascading falls are simply beautiful and you can climb farther up for even better views and perspective.

  • Came at around sunset on a Sunday. Was not too crowded and the falls were beautiful. There's a small hike up to the bridge and the bridge itself and onwards is pretty slick and icy, but you shouldn't need to go further than that for views.
  • Great short hike. Round trip from the parking lot it was about 3 miles. It was very snowy and a bit slippery today. Visibility was reduced but it was a pretty winter wonderland
  • We had such a wonderful buffet style brunch at the lodge. The gift shop had so many things for family and friends. The hike was really beautiful to the top of the waterfall.
  • This is one of the best waterfalls in Portland. Easy to reach. There are two Parking spots, one close by and small which is mostly full and the other one is better.
  • Beautiful! Absolutely worth a visit and walk up to the bridge. The view of the falls is amazing but looking back out at the river is just as beautiful.
