  • Hot as hell but really worth it the visitors centre has a very informative video and the ranger is full of good suggestions on where to hike and what to see. Enjoyed our walk along the boardwalks...

  • Awesome National Wildlife Refuge! Plenty of activities available to visitors. Great location for birding, biking, and hiking.
  • Such a beautiful place. By far my favorite getaway nearby. Hiking is always available, they have beautiful boardwalks and overlooks, it's a great place for families and kids. You can always manage to find some form of wildlife. They have canoe days during the summer months and a lovely gift shop and visitor center. Well worth a visit!
  • Noxubee refuge is an wonderful wetland and an amazing place for a hide out, if you love nature. Very good place for picnic, BBQ or a day out, especially in summer. BBQ grills are provided free. Parking is free. You can go for kayaking/ fishing. But there are alligators in the water, so don’t forget to keep an eye ! There are some bird watching tails, but make sure to wear nice hiking shoes to walk in the trail, as there are some snakes and bugs.
  • Beautiful place to relax and take a break from city life and one of the areas best kept secrets. Wetlands, boardwalks, hiking, birdwatching, and two lakes are here to enjoy. Located just south of Starkville on Oktoc Road.
  • The Sam D Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is a true treasure of Mississippi. One of the great natural resources we have within our state. The bald cypress and many other trees of the forest and swamp come alive during the months of late October and early November. Truly a spectacular place to visit anytime of the year Easily located just off of Highway 25 just south of Starkville Mississippi.
