  • A great start to our day of following the Harriet Tubman byway, beautiful mural on the side of the building, small but meaningful exhibits inside.

  • Check the calendar before you go! We traveled over 2 1/2 hours to visit the site and didn’t realize that the Governor of Maryland was visiting that day as well. It was a madhouse in the museum and it was very difficult to navigate with my walker. The one thing we were not able to do because of the crowds was see the orientation video which I really would liked to have seen. The museum itself is well organized. I was hoping to learn more, it only took an hour to read everything and we take our time to read whatever is interpreted in museums. The gift shop was small and had limited merchandise. I bought a book because I heard someone talking about it and it sounded interesting. For those, like myself with mobility issues, they had benches spaced out throughout the museum. My husband was able to drop me off at the door as well. The handicap parking was not in view of the door so it was not very close. The bathroom was easy to navigate with my walker.
  • Drove through the area last night and wanted to see the mural. I truly wish it had been more prominently displayed at the street instead of hidden in the alley but it makes sense why it is there - I am not complaining. It was very cold and windy last night. I had parked on the opposite side of Race and when I returned to my car I saw a cat cross the street exactly at the crosswalk! I was impressed. I hope to return soon during business hours so I can learn more and get the museum experience. Later I found another related mural at another spot in the city. I truly enjoy finding unexpected murals when I’m traveling. I am interested to see what others this town has to offer too! The artwork is beautifully done and the Harriet Tubman mural is a very powerful piece. Truly a treasure!
  • Definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area or on your way to Ocean City. There is no fee for admission but donations are encouraged. This modest museum has several displays and was showing Harriet Tubman videos to small groups of people while I was there. They have a portrait wall with seldom seen pics of Tubman. The museum also sells merchandise, including art prints and shirts of the famous mural of Harriet Tubman which is out back. Staff is very friendly.
  • The mural was dope. The museum, in sharp contrast was disappointingly dull. The information was pieced together and some of it was factually incorrect. Our visit there lasted less than 10 minutes. The visitors center in Church Creek was more immersive and informative.
  • It was a nice experience and the presentation is wonderful. The atmosphere in which it is set up as you ride through the town on your way to the museum. The history of the land that surrounds gives you an insight what it was like for Harriet Turman. Its nice to know how famous our state is and rich in history.
