  • I loved the tour that Ranger Kate Porter gave of the Longfellow House. She related interesting anecdotes not only of Longfellow, but his extended family. We got the time to look around the rooms...

  • This is an historic site for two types of revolutionary (at least). The tour I took was slanted toward the literary (which is my preference), but was generous in its view of history in the grandest sense. The NPS does a fantastic job in bringing the diverse aspects of this house and its inhabitants to life.
  • I visited the museum on a Saturday afternoon. I saw the Shovel to Shelf exhibit which showcased artifacts from an archeological dig on the grounds. Then I took the guided tour of the house. It was a fascinating blend of information about George Washington's nine month stay in the house during the siege of Boston, and information about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and his family's residence there.
  • Loved the experience. The tour also included a stories of queer people who lived in the house and some conversations about racism. The guide said that they were allowed to share these stories now. The tour was great and staff was knowledgeable
  • Feel tour every 30 min, need to go to visitor center to reserve. The guide is very knowledgeable and it’s a fun and insightful tour of the house and the history!
  • The Longfellow House was closed when I visited but open to explore the outside. The garden in the back was neat and very enjoyable. Had fun exploring the outside of the house and experiencing a part of history!
