  • Beautifully landscaped and fascinating to read the headstones. Make sure to stop at the visitor center. I met Helen, Jen and Susan. Lovely women with so much knowledge of the cemetery. Helen...

  • Tranquil escape. It feels more like a park than a traditional cemetery. It’s always quiet when I go and the grounds are perfect for a long relaxing stroll. The weeping birches are my favorite, it makes me feel like a child in a fort when you walk inside their canopies. Excellent place to take photos and great place to bird watch. The tower is a cool place to bring visitors to Boston- the views of the city are incredible. It’s a great place to bring a book and spend an afternoon. It feels like a secret garden.
  • One wouldn’t ordinarily consider a cemetery as a place to go for a leisurely walk, except for this one. There is a beautiful pond with trees and benches in the center of the park (if you will) to sit, reflect, and relax. And one of the most comforting places in Boston i’ve ever been to. The cemetery is big enough for you to walk through (about an hour long) or drive around in. Free to enter and can park near the lake and sit as long as you want. Even if you don’t have a loved one buried here, a beautiful and peaceful place for praying and meditating.
  • Peaceful place and free to walk around. The Japanese thread leaf maple trees are a popular attraction here. The Washington tower provides spectacular views of Boston and on some clear days one could see much farther than the city. Well maintained place that sees a lot of walking traffic. The eerie silence of the cemetery provides an unexplainable sense of calm. Quite possible because of the green cover. Anyhow, I’d definitely recommend a walk here to calm your senses and soak in the views.
  • This is probably the most beautiful cemetery that I’ve been to. This garden cemetery is very charming and though it’s not usual to hang out in a cemetery, this could be that place where you can relax away for the busy and chaotic place like Boston and Cambridge.
  • A wonderful place for a long walk and quiet reflection. The grounds are beautifully kept. Tip - the observatory tower has great views of Boston and closes at 6pm.
