Stretching 14 km (9 mi) along the Pacific, Ecola State Park features lush forests, open ocean views, wildlife, nature trails, and picnic spots. Hiking through the forest, you'll come across cliff-side viewpoints, offering views of secluded coves, forested promontories, and an abandoned lighthouse. Wear good hiking boots and be ready for deer, elk, eagle, and whale encounters. There may be surfers and beach goers on some of the shores, as well as groups of people gathered to watch marine life that has adapted to living on the rocks in the shallow ocean pools. • This is a great spot for beginners or even elderly/handicap people. You get a great view even just driving up. There are bathrooms right near the parking and down the trail as well. There are some longer trails but you can still get some great views from the main short walking trails. It's a short drive from Seaside and parking is 5 bucks. Dog and kid friendly as well. Come check this place out.
  • This beach was so magical!! First time ever seeing the pacific coast and I truly fell in love with this spot. We hiked all the way down to the beach trying to make it by sunset, and it didn’t disappoint one bit. The hike was a bit treacherous, but so worth it. The hike itself was beautiful, I felt like I was in the forest mixed with jungle! Once we were down at the beach, we were the only ones down there. We got to enjoy the sunset and beautiful views. Will definitely be back.
  • Really enjoyed this State Park. Beautiful views and trails. We saw deers. We took the trail to Crescent Beach, and it was a wonderful experience. Moderately difficult hike, mostly on way back as it is steep uphill, but our children were able to do it without fussing. Beach was uncrowded, due to hike to get there, and we had a great time!
  • An absolutely beautiful place. We loved it so much we went there multiple days on our trip. It’s just a breathtaking view and I don’t think pictures do it justice. The drive through the forest is really cool too. Such a dense, vibrant environment. Just what I wanted when we decided to visit the west coast.
  • The place to go for stunning views in every direction! Even though it was dense fog today, the sunset was amazing shining thru the fog. Tons of picnic areas and open fields. Ample parking. Trails everywhere. And many times you get to see a local herd of elk grazing in the meadows!
