Lost Paddle Rafting, Cañon City

I was visiting Zapata falls near Great Sand Dunes park by Blanca and San Luis, CO where I met 3 hikers, 2 of whom, Anna and Otter turned out to be working here in the lost paddle and they invited me to try it out. I'm glad they invited me, as it was quite amazing. I loved the experience and I recommend that you give it a try. Also it's not a secret that me and most of my group turned out to be swimmer, but it was fun!

July 10, 2020 – Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed this full-day rafting trip with Lost Paddle Rafting. We purposely chose one of the smaller family owned outfits and we were not disappointed! Adelaide, our awesome guide, coached us through and prepped us for each of the rapids we encountered. In the morning we did 10 miles on the Arkansas through Bighorn Sheep Canyon. Three of the four in our group had never been rafting before so we really appreciated Adelaide’s experience and coaching. We were a group of 2 much older women, my 18-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. Needless to say, we didn’t look like the strongest of paddling groups on the water. Because of COVID-19 groups do not mix and you raft only with your group and your guide. The relatively calmer waters of Bighorn Sheep Canyon were great for learning our paddling skills and becoming a team. After an enjoyable lunch-break we headed out again with a total of 3 rafting groups guided by Lost Paddle to do 12 more miles on the Arkansas and this time through the Royal Gorge! Wow! Talk about an amazing experience! Yes, we encountered level 4 rapids! Yes, it was amazing being inside the gorge! It was a total thrill! At one point they gave us the grand opportunity to get out and swim and do some jumping from rocks into the river. So much fun! The water level was at moderate to low and Adelaide got us through all the tough spots and more! We couldn’t be happier about our experience! To top off this excellent rafting day we took Adelaide’s recommendation to eat Indian food for dinner at Nirvana Culinary Paradise in Canon City! The ambiance and food quality at Nirvana was superb! It was an excellent relaxing way to top off the day! We highly recommend Lost Paddle with their well-trained, safety conscious, pleasant, knowledgeable guides! Thank you, Lost Paddle Rafting and Adelaide, for providing such an amazing experience!

Our son took a trip with Lost Paddle last year and loved it. So, we chose them for our trip this year. Everything was great! We chose the Royal Gorge trip. It was awesome! We really liked Tyler, our guide. He did a superb job making us look like we knew what we were doing.

There is not enough stars here to show how great these guys are. This is a locally owned and operated small business who care greatly about their customers. The rafting experience was out of this world and the guide was very good and knowledgeable about the river and its history.

My partner and I did the full day of rafting down bighorn canyon and the royal gorge. It was a group of 4 guided by a very charismatic, likeable and professional raft guide named Bobby. The experience is perfect for beginners as the first leg of the rafting trip is fairly calm, giving you the chance to get used to rafting before trying the more intense Royal gorge. Bobby was very good at teaching and eventually instructing us on how to raft properly and safely. This was truly an amazing experience that I couldn't recommend enough. All of the Lost Paddle staff are very nice and easy to get along with.
