  • You can only view this only by doing a hike. There are 2 observation points; we heard the first overlook was sufficient, so we went there. The view is amazing and there’s still a mystery how this was....  more

  • A stunning geological work of art. The colors of the rock and sand in this crater are surreal.
  • A gargantuan mystery in the heart of rock country. After some serious contemplating I have no I what could have caused this, my only explanation is whatever it did it, is buried deep under that sand...
  • A stunning geological work of art created by nature either (spolier) created by salt or a meteor - let's go with space because that's cooler. The colors of the rock and sand in this crater are surreal- with sandy beiges, red rock and green! The hike can be strenuous as it is mostly uphill to see the viewpoints of the dome. The first view point is straight down perspective and the second paints the full picture. So we would def recommend to take the time to go to both. Parking though is extremely limited but there are tables and benches for like a picnic which we loved as after a long hike, we enjoyed lunch.
  • Definitely worth the hike. This was my favorite spot in Canyonland National Park.
  • Awesome geologic structure. Would recommend over arches for those that like geology. A hidden geologic gem.
