Gifford Homestead, Capitol Reef National Park

Really cute gift shop with pies and ice cream! You must try both!! They have a nice grassy sitting area outside. Such a great place to go for an afternoon refresher. Apparent it’s not open all year but we were there in June and it was open! They do run out of pies before the end of the day so make sure to go by sooner =]

This small little estate is just beyond the visitor center at Capitol Reef national Park. I had heard about it on a podcast so I decided to stop in and check it out. The podcasters raved about the pie so that was my original goal. But once you get inside there's plenty of other items to take home. I ended up taking home some gala, apple preserves and a basil and tomato soup in addition to four different flavored pies. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area and at least trying one of the pies.

This quaint home-looking store has famous peach, apple, and berry pies, along with all sorts of jams, butters, and salsas inside to buy. Also outside are horses and turkeys living their best life. The pies are so good!! My favorite is the mixed berry pie.

Closed for lunch for an hour. Pies and cinnamon rolls sell out fast. Selection of pies are cherry, apple, mixed berry, strawberry rubarb. They are individual servings and homemade - delivered to Gifford's each morning. BE AWARE - NOthing to drink on site except the hiker's water fountain outside. There are lots of jams and salsas for sell too.

I love that they have.a homestead in the NP that is working. So this is most famous for their pies and its really easy to understand why. They were the best pies ever. You get a pretty big pie for a great prices. There's seating outside where you can enjoy the pie and the views all at once. This is a must do in the NP.
