  • Nice outdoor theater for summer productions. Parking is a pain, and there are no restrooms or food/drink service so be sure to bring your own!

  • A charming venue and the show we saw by Paperhand Puppets was delightful. My tips: the steps on the side aisles are shallower and more regular than the center aisle. You will be sitting on a rough...

  • We had a group of 8 for the annual Paperhand puppet show. The theatrics and music were exceptional. The story line was poor. The forest theater is a beautiful place, a true gem.
  • This outdoor amphitheatre is quite beautiful- evoking feelings of being in ancient ruins. The biggest advice I can give anyone coming here is two-fold: 1. Arrive early to find parking as there is plenty of campus parking around, but you may have to search for a space. 2. Bring something to sit on- there is plenty of space for setting up lawn chairs in the tiered amphitheatre rows, or blankets/pillows would also be very comfortable as long as they provide enough padding. We saw a production of Into the Woods by Stone Soup Theatre Company which was delightful. The natural elements of the theatre itself would make any production needing trees in it's set feel very appropriate and help with immersion in the narrative.
  • This beautiful stone amphitheater is such a great asset for Chapel Hill. I love attending performances here of the Paperhand Puppet Intervention. I only wish Chapel Hill or the University would invest a bit of money to add permanent toilet facilities, and perhaps some safety lighting.
  • One very nice outdoor theater (to go with very accomodating weather). Went to recently see a fitting choice of productions, Into the Woods, presented by the Stone Soup Theatre Company. Overall, a very fine production. I haven't seen more recent adaptations of the musical but I particularly liked how Nora Burgard, as Cinderella, played the scene where she broke things off with her prince.
  • First time being here. Me and my son just want to check it out what it’s. So we went there and it was pretty cool theater.
