Sneaking around the back alleys gave us a great insight into Charleston's history. Wendy was a wonderful guide.

Bruce did a great job taking our group on the alleyway tour. It was really hot but the breeze kept up and there was a lot of shade on most of the tour. I loved seeing the houses and gardens up close and the history was fascinating. I only had one afternoon in Charleston and am glad I chose this as my introduction.

We had a great Alley's and hidden passageways tour with Captain Jim Gresham! From start to finish, it was a great experience. We arrived in Charleston at 9:00am for the 9:30 tour. We wanted to hit a restroom first. So we parked at the Bay Street Parking Garage. And, it was just around the corner from our meeting place for the tour. Captain Jim sent us a text about an hour before the tour to make sure we were set to go. The tour itself was interesting and informative. A good mix of things that you'd expect to see, and others that you might just walk past without realizing. I'm happy that this was the tour we chose. The pics are not the highlights. That's for you to discover. Just includied for a little flavor.

We had a great tour of some little alleys that are significant to the history and development of Charleston and the United States. These otherwise locations and events would be forgotten without such tours. If you love history you must do this tour, if you don't love history you must do this tour. It is fascinating to all as we see trivial walkways come to life.

the price: $25 pp for a two hour, fun, educational history tour= a steal! the tour guide: Steve Bailey = answers any and all questions to the best of his ability and is extremely knowledgeable (if he doesn’t know an answer, he will tell you, but that doesn’t happen much at all). the tour length = perfect! (also, the slightly smaller group makes for easier maneuvering around the city and for better hearing and Q&A). If you want to see parts of Charleston that are rarely found on your own, take the Alleys and Hidden Passages tour, and know that it also includes major sites.

Fabulous tour and tour guide!! We went on the Alley Tour with Captain Jim Gresham. He was so knowledgeable, personable and friendly! He was great about noise and traffic going on around us - skirting us through the areas and sharing so much of Charleston’s hidden gems and history! We got home and even watched a video of him on YouTube! Will definitely catch him for another tour on our next visit!
