It was a great experience! Out horse, Ellie, was very gentle, and our tour guide gave us wonderful history lesson. Even our four year old Grandson loved the ride!

My husband and I took a tour Tuesday afternoon (9/27/2022). From the beginning at check in to the end of the tour, it was a very pleasant experience! Hunter was our guide and Rex was our beautiful Belgian Draft horse! Hunter was very engaging, funny and very knowledgeable about the city! I would recommend the Old South Carriage tours, if you are considering one and definitely ask for Hunter and Rex!

“Moose” our ride and Bill (Billy the Kid) our carriage driver were awesome!!! Took the tour on 10/04 at 9:45am. The morning was crisp (cool) and sunny. ☀️ Great information about the history of Charleston! Just a really fun hour around the city. Highly recommend 👍🏻😀

From the time we called and ordered our tickets till the tour was over, it was spectacular customer service. If you are even thinking about taking this tour, do it! They book up quickly. Katie was our guide and she was very informative on not only the knowledge of the tour but other questions that were asked about the surrounding areas. We got the route we were hoping for. As you don't know what part of the city you will get until your carriage is up for departure and then a bingo game determines where you will go. Ours went down to the battery along the water. So very pretty. Amazing history and landscape. The horses are very well taken care of and very much loved. They remain in an air-conditioned building with fans and plenty of water until they go on their next tour. They even monitor how many times the horses have been out so they don't over walk them and they get plenty of rest. Katie loved on her horse and if the horse needed a break...she allowed it and just talked more about the area. She never forced the horse to move when it wasn't ready. So gentle and kind. So glad we decided to take a clip clop tour. Such a beautiful way to see parts of the city.

Tom and Eli were amazing! I would highly recommend this tour for your first visit to Charleston. If you have been to Savannah you know that is a good walking city easy to tour on feet. I would not say the same for Charleston. More ground to cover and not as easy to figure out where to go. Tom was knowledgeable on local history and architecture. He had a spicy attitude which we loved also! We would come again! Ask for Tom you couldn’t get a better guide!

We had the best tour guide to show us the historical sites and beautiful homes of Charleston! We loved the attention to safety of passengers and our equine guide. Old South tours were recommended to us and we would definitely recommend them to you.
