  • What an experience! We had an out-of-state high school reunion at the Elk River Guest Ranch and it was wonderful. The cabins are clean, comfortable, well-appointed and quiet. The scenery is beautiful. There are plenty of hikes right from the property....and many more a short distance away. Horseback riding, fishing, trail riding are all close by. Most importantly, Debbie, Berry, Marty and Jenny are the great hosts. I highly recommend the Elk River Guest Ranch. I plan to return for future stays!
  • Buildings are all run down and in need of painting or repairs. Mice in the evergreen cabin at least, there’s just bins in there to put your food in, gross!! Wasn’t what I was hoping my family that was coming across the country to stay in. No carbon monoxide detector. Apparently you have to bring your own wood for fires in the cabin or outside at the fire pit, otherwise you pay a high penny to enjoy a fire. They charge a cleaning fee but then expect you to clean your own cabin before leaving. The river is the only reason it got 2 stars on location, but you have to cross a surprisingly busy road to get down there. People go really fast on that road. To top it all off the management was terrible. Marty and Jenny were RUDE, condescending and unaccommodating. You’re better off staying at the rabbit ears motel than this place.
  • We just went this past weekend for a little get away. We had the best time. The facilities looked exactly like the photos and very close to steamboat. Deb is a great hostess.
  • I would have given five stars, but it's known there are mice in the cabins and rather do anything to get them out, they just let them live in the cabin & you store food in bins.. there were nice droppings on kitchen counter, window sill & on the cup shelf where the rim of glasses are placed on the shelf. Not very sanitary, so wash your dishes before using them. With that said, we were very comfortable. Great location, beautiful land and peaceful. We had a great time and despite the mice, would return, but would like to see owner address this problem. Another couple across the way from us went I to the cabin which gas from the stove was running from last guest. Their detector didn't even go off. More care needs to be taken of this property & attention to detail
  • Rented a cabin here via Airbnb to race in SBT GRVL down in Steamboat. The cabin was beautiful and clean and very comfortable. The commute was a little further to Steamboat than I anticipated, but that's on me. The corner market in Clark was super cute and accommodated me by making a vegan breakfast burrito 🌯 One thing I will say though, word of caution to anyone booking this. The Airbnb listing was that this cabin was dog friendly, but when we arrived, in the printed rules in our cabin, it stated that: "dogs must be on leash at all times and cannot be left unattended in the cabin, if either of these rules are violated you may be asked to leave without a refund" The whole point of booking a dog friendly cabin was so that I knew my pup would be in a safe location while I was racing, and also the cabin is on a giant fenced in piece of land and my desperately wanted to run and play which was kind of my plan when taking her to Colorado. I triple checked the Airbnb listing and did not see this rule anywhere in the post, had I known upfront I would have never booked this Airbnb. Dog owners beware, I'd say this group of cabins is *semi*-dog friendly at best. But if you're counting on letting your dog run and play or leaving your dog in a safe place while heading into town, forgot about it.
