Create an itinerary including The Cleveland Museum of Art
World-renowned for its Asian and Egyptian collections, The Cleveland Museum of Art remains free to the public, as it was originally intended to be, through one of the largest endowments in the country. The museum has more than 40,000 works permanently on display, along with exceptional traveling exhibitions. The artwork inside the museum and the museum's architecture are often equally enticing for visitors. The building was built in the Beaux Arts style using neoclassical white marble, which has stood the test of time over the last hundred years. The museum and Wade Park, which surrounds it, are currently on the National Register of Historic Places. Plan my Cleveland trip by asking Klarna Trips to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • We did not go into the museum. What we did do was drive around the beautiful area and stop to see The Thinker. I remember when the horrible event happened back in 1970. We stood and looked at this....  more

  • Beautiful place. Many different exhibits to enjoy for free. At this time you must wear a mask(no big deal they offer free ones if you forget). Great collection of Armour, swords and other artifacts from that Era. Lots 0f real cool Hindu and Buddhist carvings, tablets and sculptures. Second time going spent some time walking through the parks leading to the museum is definitely also worth the effort. Will definitely make time to go again if I'm anywhere close. Loved it .
  • A wonderful gem in Cleveland. They have an extensive collection of different kinds of art, ranging from the armor collection to Baroque. They also have a nice gift shop and cafe that you can stop in on your way out. The architecture inside and outside are works of art themselves. The best part…it’s free! All of the employees I’ve encountered have been very friendly and informative as well. A great way to spend an afternoon.
  • It's been said 1000 times but this place is absolutely incredible. If you're anywhere near the area you really need to check it out! I've been to dozens of museums and this one is honestly on another level. If you want to explore the whole thing/all the exhibits expect to spend at least 3 hours or so, but if you have less time it's very easy to pop in and out of the different exhibits! Also I went on a Saturday and it wasn't even super busy, excellent spot.
  • One of my favorite places to visit, especially with kids and grandchildren. The collections are amazing, it's hard to see it all in one trip. Amazing artifacts from BC, Iron Age, AD, Dark ages, Medieval Renaissance and on. From ancient Greece, Egypt, Africa, Rome, Iran and more. It's thrilling to see works from Goya, Gainsborough, Joseph Turner, John Singer and more famous painters. If you get hungry the cafe has very good food at good prices. The gift shop is nice too.
  • A fun and interactive experience. I was amazed by all the beautiful pieces they had, just in pure awe. Hands down an amazing experience as soon as you walk in the door. A must see in Cleveland and Free!! Great place to spend all day, enjoy the Cafe and gift shop and a good place to bring kids or go with friends. Very welcoming staff available to share details or answer any questions.
