  • Thank you Anglers Covey: What an awesome day on the water. Our guides Juan and Phil were the best. Their knowledge of the Arkansas River and the best flies for the day made a wonderful experience. This is my 5th guided trip with anglers covey and I have never been disappointed with the service, guides or the river locations. I will certainly continue to book trips with anglers covey when visiting Colorado Springs.
  • What an amazing day out on the Arkansas River! A high school friend from out of town invited me to join her to fish with a guide from Angler’s Covey. It was only my 2nd time out - first time with a guide. We met up with Phil Tereyla and headed to the Pueblo Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center. The sun was shining, the water had yet to get super cold, and the fish were biting! Phil’s instructions on casting, mending, setting the hook, reeling and working with the fish (as I reeled) were perfect! He was super patient — even after my friend and I lost several flies to some bank- side branches & rocks. I caught & lost a few (including a small brown) and eventually reeled in a beautiful rainbow (close to 22” & approx 4-5 lbs.) and another rainbow right towards the end of the day that was around 18”. My friend caught several including a beautiful red male, close to 20”. I really appreciated Phil’s excitement each time we landed a fish. You could tell he loves his work and sharing the joys of fly fishing with his customers. If you’re seeking a fantastic fly fishing guide in Colorado Springs, get in touch with Phil. You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and he’s also a published author. You can pick up his book at Angler’s Covey.
  • My hubs, his friend and I went on a full day guided fishing (walk not float) tour in late September. We were 2 beginners and 1 with some experience. We had such an amazing day. The guides Kaitlin Boyer and her guide in training Ben Wren were both amazing. They had such a positive attitude and knew their stuff. They made sure we were comfortable in great equipment. Kaitlin even brought us pastry for breakfast for the ride. They picked out a great spot in Deckers and we had a blast all day. We tried wet and dry and we all caught 2-5 fish with tons of bites and fun. Was a cool morning but nice and sunny by mid day. Started at 6:30 and done by a bit after 2pm. Had a great lunch of turkey sandwhiches, chips and such and they made sure we had enough water and such. Helped us old farts (54-63) over the stones and such so we didn't bite it in the water (only 1 of us once!)...and they yanked us up quick so no harm no foul. They knew where to cast, what they were hitting on and gave us enough encouragement and attention, but also let us do our thing. Not too strenuous at all even with the elevation...but standing all day in the water was tiring at the end on old knees and backs...but we also didn't rest at all cause we were havin so much fun!!! Was the best. Highly recommend Kaitlin and Ben. She even got a little mini cakes and a candle so we could make a fuss over my hubs birthday.
  • Trip of a lifetime for my husband, Ray Thomas. Brian was a great guide, put my husband on a number of wonderful trout. Great teacher. If you want to catch fish and learn, he’s your man!
  • My dad and I have always wanted to go fly fishing but we didn't know where to start. My friend recommended Brian and I am so happy we ventured out with him! He provided all the gear, poles, and we got a private lesson. Thanks to Brian - we each caught multiple fish throughout the day and learned a lot. I highly recommend Brian if you're a beginner hoping to catch your first fish or experienced and want to refine your skills. Can't wait to go with him again! :)
