Friends and neighbors inspired by their love for the park and concerned about the effects of city budget cuts founded Guardians of Palmer Park (GoPP) in January 2009. The main focus of the organization’s mission is to enhance, protect, defend and maintain the physical integrity, natural beauty and physical resources of Palmer Park for the enjoyment of future generations.

  • The view here is so perfect. I definitely recommend checking it out at sunset and exploring the trails! There’s a cool little cave on one of the trails.

  • We've spent many days hiking the trails and walking around, enjoying the beauty of the park. Definitely worth seeing.

  • Beautiful park but the City of Colorado Springs doesn't maintain the entrances. City forestry does virtually zero maintenance to the Paseo entrance which makes it a prime candidate for a wildfire...

  • Beautiful and impressive place for hiking. There are many trails to choose and the park is huge, so definitely everyone will find something fitting - easy, medium or a bit harder trail. Rock formations are not so big like in Garden of the Gods, but for nature lovers surely great because of variety of shapes. Even experienced hiker will be busy for few days to be able to say that he saw everything. For me it's the best park in Colorado Springs.
  • This place is a hidden gem. We just moved here and never imagine a park with such great views and hike paths in the middle of the city. We took our 6 and 8 year old through the Great View Trail and Cheyenne Trail and they had no problem with. Each hike path has visual markers identifying what it's suited for such as hiking or mountain biking. Plenty of places for great photo ops. Multiple places to park for free all around the park.
  • Whenever I need to get away and don't want to drive far, I drive to the top of Palmer park to free my mind. Been here for most my life and this is still the place to go. Great little hike trails, great playground and nice dog park too. The sunrises are my favorite😁
  • One of the most gorgeous parks in The Springs. The playground is nice, but the hiking trails are stunning. It’s a great place for the whole family to get out into nature without leaving the city. There are 25 miles of trails around the park. Easy to moderate for hiking, biking and running.
  • This is the best park I've ever been to. Spectacular views over Colorado Springs with Pikes Peak in the background. Very dog friendly. I highly recommend visiting in the fall. Pics taken on October 19, 2022.
