St. Clement's Island Museum, Coltons Point

It was a Sunday I paid $7 to take the boat to the island and back to the museum The trips to the island start at 10 am until 2 pm but you need leave the island at 3:00pm A few weeks after, I went again but we couldn’t enter They said the boat was on repair. Apparently, they don’thave a spare one or they say that when the boat man wants to have the day off. So this time we wasted the trip I recommend to call before to make sure their boat is not on repair

Definitely worth it to come check out. I recommend paying the $7 for the additional boat ride and getting able to walk across the island. I can't believe it was once 400+ acres. When you get off the boat head left and walk around the island (15min walk) and see the big cross and light house. There are many picturesque spots as well. The museum is also good and they have a video that explains a lot. Also staff was very friendly as well.

This was a great place to visit to learn about the beginnings of Maryland. There's a lot to see in what at first appears to be a small museum. Make sure to plan a lot more time out on St Clement's Island because there's a lot of walking.

Great little small museum down in the heart of St Mary's county nothing really fancy just a beautiful view and during the summer they have a boat that will take you out to the island from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day
