  • It's a state park with not much going on. Just not much to see or do. Short walk up a hill with a view. Maybe okay if you want to camp close to the border.

  • A wonderful overnight for us on our trip. This town is where Pancho Villa made his raid on the US late one night in March 1916. It later became the first US military air base and there are several remnants of the buildings in the park. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms are clean and tidy and while the sites don't have sewer, there is a dump station on your way out. We plan to return.
  • Quiet, simple state park a couple of miles from the Mexican border. I stayed on a non-electric, water only campsite but there are lots of campsites with electricity. There are very clean bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot showers. The park rangers and other employees are all very friendly and are willing to answer questions and give directions to restaurants and grocery stores in the area. You can see the lights of the border in the distance. There are awesome sunsets here.
  • Poncho Villa State Park commemorates Villa’s historic attack on the U.S. at Columbus, NM just a few miles from the border. It’s a beautifully landscaped desert park with clean working amenities, trails, historical remnants, and a museum. Well worth a stop if you’re down by the border.
  • Nice clean quiet park. Great place to unwind. It is the desert. The town of Columbus has a lot of history. Walking over the border is super easy. All the locals and quests go to a restaurant and gift shop named Pink over the border. I loved it and so did my husband. We originally booked 3 nights but extended it 2 more nights. The staff and volunteers were great and you can’t beat the price. A sleepy little town and we loved de-stressing and relaxing there.
  • Pancho Villa SP is a on the border of the US and Mexico. Pancho Villa has a museum with artifacts from when Pancho Villa invaded the town of Columbus in 1916. This state park is well maintained with sites for boondocking, as well as sites that are non-electric, and sites with electric and water. Lots of history here to explore!
