Turtle Run Winery is privately owned by Laura and Jim Pfeiffer. Laura is Director of Customer Experience and Jim is responsible for grape growing and winemaking. Extensive studies of winemaking and viticulture in the 1980's and 90's lead Jim and Laura to focus on the previously unknown growing region of southern Indiana, known for it's abundant limestone. See what the best areas in Europe and Indiana have in common. Soon to be the next big wine grape growing region. Since Jim and Laura discovered it, three other wineries have started.

You can’t argue with free music on Sundays plus a bottle of wine to sip and enjoy. On a picture perfect day like today with the legendary Monarchs performing there is going to be a good sized crowd...

What an incredibly atmospheric and fun undiscovered gem. Some of the best wine we’ve had near Louisville, and the best welcoming spirit we’ve felt on our travels.

Recently stopped into Turtle Run and was blown away by the generosity we were met with by all the staff. The owners are some of the kindest people you will meet and Jim knows his stuff about wine! I've never been served by an owner of a winery before. What a treat! Every blend I sampled, I wanted. Great little hidden gem. We'll be back for more!

We live two hours away, but visit Turtle Run at least twice a year since discovering the place six years ago. Jim is such a pleasure to talk to. He loves to talk about the wines and explain his way of wine making. All of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you’ve visited many wineries, you know the employees helping you make or break your visit. I promise you will walk away from Turtle Run with a smile on your face……and likely a case or two of wine!

This place is fantastic. I genuinely loved each wine I tasted because the flavors weren't overwhelmed by added sugar. Angie was a lovely host and made our experience a great one. Definitely will be coming back in the future

I ordered a bottle of Traminette online and really enjoyed the experience! My husband and I are slowly trying a bottle of wine from each state, so we've ordered a lot of wine online. I appreciate that Turtle Run provides a lot of information on their website and I could find numerous articles and interviews about them so I had a good idea of what I wanted to order. Not only was the wine great and nicely packed for transport, but I also received a very sweet handwritten note and a winery brochure. I love the personal touch to an online order!
