Annie Creek Canyon, Crater Lake National Park

Wonderful hike! The Annie Creek Trail starts off along the back side of Mazama campground. I recommend walking around counterclockwise where you go along the campground a-f before slowly dipping down into the canyon. We went on the hike a bit before sunset and didn't see a single person in the canyon. You will walk alongside a meandering creek at the bottom, frequently crossing over with small little bridges. The trail is very peaceful with the sound of trickling water. If you go close to sunset during twilight the hike feels quite magical. The elevation gain is not too bad, especially if you go counterclockwise. You will barely notice the incline as you walk against the creek, slowly gaining elevation on the way. If you happen to visit Crater lake during wildfire season like we did, the smoke in the canyon barely hinders the view compared to other hikes in the park. Come check it out! Also, didn't have any issues with mosquitos in August but can't guarantee the same experience during other months.

If you're looking for a quiet, unpopulated hike in Crater Lake National Park, try this one. It's a 1.7 mile loop that begins (and ends) in the Mazama Campground. You'll hike down into a canyon filled with wildflowers, a charming creek, and incredible views. I spent nearly an hour hiking this area and didn't come across a soul.

Great place to play in the snow in the winter and do some mountain biking in the summer. We have a great time every time we come here, which is often.
