  • So we just finished the platinum tour with Captain Michael and Baby Tee of Capt Mike's. Worth every single penny. Both guides were informative and absolutely knew where to go and what to do. Another guide service had given up and Captain Michael said just wait, and sure enough the manatee was there and we were all alone with the manatee. Highly recommend.
  • I had a great experience on the silver tour. We took the 7am tour and arrived at 6:30 to put on our swim gear. They have changing rooms and a little shop at the check-in inside the Best Western. We watched a required video from FL Fish and Wildlife about manatee laws then met our captain and went out to the boat. The boardwalk to get out the the boat was shaky with no handrails, which could be a problem for some. Our tour was a little crowded with 13 people. We rode around for about 2 hours looking for a manatee that was not crowded. It was supposed to be a good manatee day (cold February day) but we didn’t find many. Our Captain Yves ended up bringing us to an area with colder water but a couple of manatee that were not being visited by other your groups. There was a guide that got in the water with us to help spot manatees. We swam around for about 30 minutes total and then headed back. After the swim, there is a small toilet room to change in, but it’s not really enough room to move. Overall a great tour with a knowledge Captain and I would recommend this company over others. It was clear that they care and respect the animals. We watched two different tour company’s literally driving a boat over a mom (cow) and baby (calf)!
  • We only found one manatee but had a good view of him chomping down sea grass and farting 😆. Water wasn't that clear due to tide and our group or the flatulence kicked up too much dirt (!) so we moved on and didn't find another in time. But despite that Melanie and Captain Bill made great hosts with lots of interesting chats as we pootled around the harbour. Don't expect a long trip out into the wild, but still great.
  • Wetsuited up. No fins, just a noodle. Fins kick up the sediment. However, was harder to swim. Went out into the river basin around islands roped off for the manatees. Was expecting more of the clear blue water as seen in pics. Found that an excursion goes to the Three Sisters Springs which had the clearer water. Had I known I would have picked 3 Sisters for the clearer water, but still enjoyed Mike's. Staff was very friendly.
  • Most amazing adventure with the gentle Giants! Captain Tom and Water Guide Ron were patient, understanding, and accommodating! We experienced the best spots to view manatees and spend time together! I highly recommend!
