  • Bear Creek Lake State Park is a nice facility located about an hour drive west of Richmond. It is adjacent to Cumberland State Park, which is a gem in itself. There is a nominal $5 entrance fee...

  • Me and my family had a great day at bear creek. We took the early archery class to star the day and had a great time. Afterwards we explored the trails, fishing along the way. Once we got back to the beach area, we cooked some great food and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Definitely would recommend. Dogs are allowed.
  • The speech in lake were a delightful surprise. The beach was clean and nice wasn't too busy nice lake. They have boat rentals and a little store. Very few snack options I believe there was a hot dog a pretzel chips candy and some ice cream sandwich options. So bring your food they have grills and plenty of picnic table areas available for everybody. Highly recommend a nice day at the beach here.
  • My family and I had a great long weekend here. We watched the sun rise from the porch of our cabin, enjoyed cozy evenings by the fire, and took several walks along trails surrounding the lake (watch out for poison ivy!!!). The lake offers boat, canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals. We had a fun afternoon on the beach :) The camp store has many cute souvenirs, as well as some camping essentials. We enjoyed our stay so much that we may make this an annual destination!
  • I spent.my birthday weekend here with my favorite people and we had a blast. Swimming, trails, and not far from Farmville so we could get things we needed and good food. I highly recommend the cabins here, they are so nice.
  • What a nice park! My girlfriends family rented a cabin for a long weekend here and boy was it nice. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had a great lay out for family time, camp fires, and enjoying the views. The park itself had walking trails around the lake, canoe/kayak/paddle board/ boat rentals available, and a nice Sandy beach area with a playground and picnic tables available. The only thing I would change was just some trail maintenance. The trails were very narrow which is fine, but there was no maintenance done along the trails to keep the under growth at bay. This area has alot of poison ivy and poison oak which brushes right up on the trails so walk with care!
