Create an itinerary including Greenfield Village
Within the enormous Henry Ford museum complex, Greenfield Village is its own world. Learn how Americans have lived since the founding of the country as you wander through the historical buildings. You can visit Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright brothers' workshop, and more. In some of the 17th-century buildings, you can meet costumed "locals" in the midst of village tasks, such as farming, sewing, cooking, glass-blowing, and pottery. If you get hungry, try a typical 19th-century meal served by traditionally dressed restaurant staff at the Eagle Tavern, a restaurant that's been here since 1831. You can even ride a steam-engine train or a vintage car. Plan to see Greenfield Village and other attractions that appeal to you using our Dearborn itinerary builder.

  • If you like pioneer villages, well let me tell you, this is the Disney World of pioneer villages! It's so big, we couldn't do it all, will have to return someday. We rode the model t and carousel and train and they were so fun. Almost all the houses were staffed with knowledgeable people to explain stuff and answer questions. We had a frozen custard and it was scrumptious. Loved the crafting demonstrations. All the employees are dressed in period clothing and are so nice. Just a fantastic place. Hope to return someday.
  • We have visited the village twice now and it is still amazing. Where else can you go and see the home where the Webster American Dictionary was finished, the bike shop where the first airplane was designed and built, and the laboratory where the light bulb was perfected. So much history and American culture in one unique village. Loved it. You can see a full review and video on our blog site. Search for Our Haunted Travels.
  • Absolutely loved it. Total package is a little pricey and food price is pretty ridiculous but we loved it. So much history in one place. Ford purchased and relocated historic homes to those 80 acre lot. Beautiful location with Model T for hire that will give you rides around the town as well as a carousel and a steam train.
  • Love all of this place but the village is for sure my favorite. So much history to explore and a great place to just take a walk. Nice fresh air and flowers everywhere! They also have train and model T car rides. Highlllyyyyy recommended you going here if in the area.
  • It is simply a must see. Every year we enter our car for the motor muster. It is simply unique and a step back in time. From period costumes, to the model T’s, and the animals. It is also a huge place, so west your walking shoes. There’s nothing else like this unique place of history. Great for people of all ages.
