Create an itinerary including Zabriskie Point
Famous as the spot on the cover of the U2 album "The Joshua Tree," Zabriskie Point is a geological curiosity formed by sediment from a dried-up lake. Thermal waters gave it color, and wind and lava shaped its erosion patterns. This location is named after Christian Zabriskie, vice-president of the Borax company, which had mining operations in Death Valley. The sun makes high-contrast shadows on the formations, which change over the course of the day. • Absolutely stunning views - for anyone with walking limitations it’s incline is easier than it looks with ample areas to stop. Bring a camera and sunrise or sunset changes the appearance greatly...

  • One of the more beautiful places to be at during sunset in Death Valley. The colors of the landscape during that time is spectacular and you’ll get some really good photos. There’s a large viewing area and you can walk off to the side and go sit on the rocks and even hike down to the valley below.
  • An awe inspiring view of the surrounding landscape that one must physically see for themselves. If you are in Death Valley take the time to experience this place — you won’t regret it. While many people are often here don’t let that discourage you! Bring a camera or don’t the pictures hardly do it justice. I went for a hike with some friends and found it to be a wonderful challenge of my endurance. Be sure to bring water & snacks but leave no trace!
  • Beautiful! My friend knew this amazing spot from prior visits. It is absolutely worth taking a detour to admire this beauty of nature. Parking is easy and the walk to the point only takes a couple of minutes. The view from the Vista is absolutely breathtaking.
  • Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park is one of the most popular spots in the park because it’s an easy hike and right off the main road. If I had more time, I’d want to hike through the canyons. Really pretty here.
  • One of the most stunning spots at Death Valley! A must-see. There is parking and you can take a quick walk to the viewpoint. I would highly recommend taking pictures from different spots and taking the trail as the views at each viewpoint/angle gets different and more breathtaking. Death Valley National Park can get pretty hot in summer, so it is recommended to visit in winter time. Carry a lot of water with you and fill up your gas before entering the park as it is huge!
